Dr. Zakheim attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now called Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) for her dental degree, graduating in 2002, and regularly completes continuing education courses to stay up-to-date with requirements and remain abreast of the latest advances in the dental field. Dr. Zakheim has practiced in the Monsey area since 2003, and is a member of the American Dental Association® and the Bergen and Rockland county study clubs.
When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.

Zev Lazarus, DMD

Dr. Zev Lazarus is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Born and raised in Monsey, NY, Dr. Lazarus developed a love for nature and science at a young age. This passion first led him to pursue a degree with honors in Biology from Touro University, followed by his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. At Harvard Dental School, Dr. Lazarus gained extensive experience in all areas of general dentistry, treating underserved communities in Massachusetts and abroad in remote areas of Peru. While in Peru, he observed many patients suffering from severe gum disease, which ignited his passion for periodontics. After dental school, Dr. Lazarus pursued a three-year specialty residency in Periodontics at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, where he received his certificate and Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. During this time, he acquired extensive training and expertise in dental implant surgery, implant complications, bone grafting, soft tissue procedures, and regenerative techniques.
Dr. Lazarus is committed to lifelong learning. He regularly attends advanced continuing education courses to offer the latest in evidence-based periodontal and implant care. Dr. Lazarus takes great pride in providing compassionate, patient-centered treatment and enjoys helping patients improve their oral health through minimally invasive techniques.
When not in the office, Dr. Lazarus enjoys spending time with his wife and children, hiking in the beautiful Hudson Valley, and woodworking.
Hirsch J. Ziegler, DDS, MAGD
Founder
Dr. Hirsch J. Ziegler founded Dental Health of Rockland and established the philosophy of comprehensive, conservative dentistry that continues to guide the practice today. A Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), Dr. Ziegler earned this distinction through extensive continuing education and a demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
While Dr. Ziegler no longer sees patients, his commitment to preserving natural teeth and improving lifelong oral health remains at the heart of everything we do. The entire team at Dental Health of Rockland continues to uphold the standards of care and patient-centered approach that Dr. Ziegler established over 30 years ago.
